GRADING CRITERIA FOR THE NOTES

For an A grade
Book is highlighted or shows underlining consistently throughout the entire book. Comments may be in the margins as well. Notes are on paper.
For a B grade
Book I mostly highlighted or underlined to show effort. Notes are pretty decent and respectable but don't show outstanding effort.
For a C grade
Notes are only in the book or the paper notes are minimal or book may only be partially annotated. Basic and average attempt to complete assignment.
For a D grade
Only a little attempt was made to highlight or make notes in the book or on paper.

GRADING CRITERIA FOR MULTIGENRE ENTRIES:

4=
Exemplary; Insightful
(an A range grade)
The student shows an excellent understanding of the entire book; genres are detailed; project is presented neatly; mechanics and grammar are done well.
3=
Good; exceeds expectations
(a B range grade)
Student shows a good understanding of the book; thinking demonstrated is good but ideas could be expanded; project presented neatly; mechanics and grammar are pretty good.
2=
Satisfactory; meets minimal expectations
(a C range grade)
Project is complete; genres could lack analysis or detail or insight or not cover enough of the book; grammar and mechanics need improvement and interfere with understanding.
1=
Minimal effort; approaches expectations
(a D range grade)
Student has made an attempt to accomplish the project but lacks development of ideas.
